Important Changes to VAT ...Sage Knowledgebase Articles Below
VAT Rate Change
The UK standard rate of VAT increases to 17.5% on 1 January 2010. The Irish standard rate of VAT decreases to 21%. HMRC estimate that the change will affect approximately 2 million VAT registered businesses Further information about these changes is available from the HMRC websiteIf you have any further questions or require any assistance please do not hesitate to contact our support team.
Important Notice: Line 100 Customers
We recommend you ask your network Administration backup your data directory before implementing the VAT change. Also that all sales and purchase postings are updated before proceeding.
Important Notice: Sage MMS & Sage 200 Customers
We recommend that you print & post any invoices that are presently in the system that require to be invoiced at the 15% rate before following any of the advice on changing the VAT rate. If you amend an order after the Tax Rates have been changed, this will correctly recalculate the VAT for the order - this will also be the case if you run Balance Ledgers on Commercials to Fix - it will revalue all non-complete orders to the newly amended rate.
