Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking two highly skilled Test Automation Engineers to join our R&D team. The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to ensure the high quality and reliability of our software products. You will collaborate closely with developers and product owners to understand the requirements and create effective automated tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as TestComplete, Playwright, TestCafe and other automation frameworks.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Create and manage test plans, test cases, and test scripts for automated testing. Execute automated tests and analyse results to identify issues.
  • Continuous Integration: Monitor build pipelines to ensure that testing is continuously executed in development cycles and passing, and investigate and resolve issues where this isn’t the case.
  • Test Environment Management: Set up, configure and manage test environments, including data management for automated tests.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for test scripts and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest testing tools, techniques, and trends. Continuously improve the automation processes to enhance test coverage and efficiency.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Fundamental proficiency in programming.
  • Familiarity with web services testing using tools like Postman.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Applicants must be based in the UK and daily presence in the office in Bury St. Edmunds is essential. Salary depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm and benefits package includes: above minimum employer pension contributions, Life Insurance, Private medical insurance and 23+ days holiday (plus all Bank Holidays).
