Serenco | Sicon Multi-Product Case Study

Founded over 25 years ago, Serenco UK is a specialist wholesale distributor of professional automotive tools. Home to leading automotive brands, including BOXO, the company supplies a national network of more than 400 distributors and supports some of the largest automotive aftermarket providers in the UK. With a team of 46 employees, Serenco has built a reputation for delivering both high-quality products and exceptional service to the professional automotive sector.

What needed to change?

As the business continued to grow, Serenco began to outgrow its existing Sage 50 system. One of the key challenges was the inability to accurately reconcile stock and financial information, making it difficult to obtain reliable day-to-day visibility of business performance and margins.

The company also recognised that continued growth would require greater automation and more scalable processes to prevent administrative workloads from increasing alongside sales volumes.

The Solution: Driving Innovation Through Integration

Working alongside Paradise Computing, Serenco upgraded from Sage 50 to Sage 200 and implemented a range of Sicon solutions designed to support its distribution operation, including:

  • Sicon Distribution streamlines stock management, onboarding of new customer orders, container visibility, demand based purchasing and the management of warehouse replenishment.
  • Sicon Barcoding & Warehousing enables engineers and warehouse teams to issue, receive and track stock instantly and accurately, eliminating delays and errors.
  • Sicon Courier Integration allows users to select available Couriers at sales order despatch and print labels ready for Courier collection.
  • Material Planning provides suggested Purchase Orders to handle future stock shortages. Using current stock levels, sales order and other demand to determine when stock is required based on supplier lead time.

By replacing paper-based processes with automated workflows and reducing manual administration, Serenco has created a more connected and efficient operation, ensuring business-critical information remains accurate, accessible, and up to date across the organisation.

The implementation of Sage 200 and Sicon Additions has delivered greater stock visibility, streamlined warehouse and fulfilment processes, and improved purchasing and inventory control. The flexibility of the solution has also enabled Serenco to develop innovative supply chain processes for major customers, including supporting Jaguar Land Rover’s roadside repair operation through automated order processing and fulfilment workflows.

With these new tools and technology in place, Serenco now benefits from:

  • Accurate stock and financial reporting
  • Real-time visibility of sales and margins
  • Improved material planning and purchasing decisions
  • Automated warehouse and fulfilment processes
  • Reduced administration and paper-based workflows
  • Greater operational scalability to support future growth
  • Enhanced customer service through innovative integrations
