10307 – Error when creating WO for SO with no requested delivery date

Detailed Description

We have the option to “Generate Works Order for Sales Order” (Works Order Processing menu > Works Orders). This provides a fast way to generate works orders to build finished items for which you have a shortfall (without having to do a full MRP run).

When working properly, a works order will be created for the shortfall amount – with the Works Order due date set to match the Sales Order line promised date.

If however the Sales Order promised date has been left empty on the Sales Order line, then our module errors when trying to determine the due date of the Works Order to be created:

Impact: Low

• Urgency | Ability to work not affected; inconvenient.
• Impact | Single user affected.

Workaround

A sales order line promised date should be entered for all sales order lines of built/BOM items for which you want to use the “Create Works Order for Sales Order” option.
