11276 – The Outcome field on opportunities cannot be updated via Workflow

Detailed Description

This issue will only occur if you setup a workflow that updates the outcome field. When amending the outcome field using the workflow pop-up, the specified input isn’t saved.

Pre-requisite

This issue only occurs when you have created an opportunities workflow within Flow Setup and an action is created that allows you to update the outcome field once updating a specific stage.

The issue is documented below:

  1. Inside of a premade opportunity, select the status that allows you to amend the action. In this example, the action is linked to Qualified.

2. When you have selected the status, the amend fields pop-up will appear. Add an input into Outcome.

3. Go back into the opportunity, you will find the outcome field will still be empty.

Impact: Low

  • Urgency | Ability to work not affected; inconvenient.
  • Impact | All users affected.

Workaround

To work around this issue, you can update the outcome within the opportunity using the Details tab as highlighted below:

  • Go into the opportunity you are wanting to add the outcome too.
  • Go to the Details tab.
  • Change the Outcomes dropdown to the desired outcome.
  • Press Save on the bottom left-hand corner of the Opportunities screen.
