11904 – CRM Web fails to update ‘To’ address after a contacts email is changed

Detailed Description

Inside CRM Web, if you were to update a person’s email address and then attempt to send an email (without refreshing), the system will show you the old email. To recreate this, you need to:

  1. Go to log into Sicon CRM Web.
  2. Go to People > Search People.

3. Find the person you want to amend the email address of.

4. Go to the Details tab and select the pencil icon in the Contact section.

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up and amend the email address and press Save.

6. Now, select the Actions drop down in the top right-hand corner and select New Email.

7. You will notice that the email address in the To box is the old email address.

Impact: Low

  • Urgency | Ability to work not affected; sufficient workaround available.
  • Impact | All Users Affected.

Workaround

To get around this issue, we recommend a couple of workarounds below. These will not add additional administrative load to you, and once you have done this a couple of times, it will become second nature:

  1. If you change email address, refresh the page using F5 or the button (circle with an arrow) next to the URL bar. Once refreshed this will show the updated address.

2. You can manually change the email address in the To field. Click the box and replace the contents with the correct information.
