12570 – Sicon Works Orders allows creation of a Phantom BOM
Version Reported In
Sicon Manufacturing v.211.0.81
Detailed Description
Sicon Works Orders allows a Phantom item to be added as the finished product to create.
With Sage Stock Control and Sage Bill of Materials, a phantom is a BOM that is not used as a stock component or in raising works orders, and never kept in stock, so being able to select this at Works Order creation is not relevant.
Although the user is prompted that this is not a built item, they can still ignore the message and continue.
Impact: Low
- Urgency | Ability to work not affected; sufficient workaround available.
- Impact | All Users Affected.
Workaround
It is expected that most sites will be aware that Phantom stock items are not kept in stock, but if the works order has progressed through to being booked in, it will show as having an “actual quantity” and cannot be written off whilst set as a Phantom.
To achieve this, the stock item can temporarily be amended to a Built item, written off, and then changed back to a Phantom item.
