13065 – Opportunity Stages – No limit on char limit for an opportunity status name

Detailed Description
When creating or maintaining an Opportunity Stage status within Sicon CRM, you can create a status up to 255 characters long and save it successfully. However, when you access anything that references that status, the system will show an error message if the status name exceeds 50 characters.
- Go to Sicon CRM > Opportunities > Maintenance > Opportunity Stages.

2. Select the New button.
3. Create a Stage with a name that over 100 characters long and select Save.

4. Now create a new Opportunity by going to Opportunities > New Opportunity.
5. When creating the Opportunity, set the status to be the new one you just created, enter the rest of the basic information.

6. Save this Opportunity.
7. Go to Opportunities > Opportunity Search, select the Find button and the error will appear.

Workaround
To prevent this from happening, when creating an opportunity status, ensure it is not longer than 50 characters. If one already exists, you can amend it by:
- Go to Sicon CRM > Opportunities > Maintenance > Opportunity Stages.
- Find the stage name that has a name longer than 50 characters and select the Edit button.
- Amend the stage name to be less than 50 characters.
