Sicon Known Issues

13605 – Sales Order link to Works Order is lost when Sales Order allocated from free stock

Version Reported In

Sicon Manufacturing v221.0.86

Detailed Description

When a Works Order has been preallocated to a Sales Order, and the linked sales order is later fully allocated from free stock manually via Sage (before the works order is booked in), the link to the Works Order remains until the point of editing or booking in the Works Order.  At that point, the link is “lost”.

Prior to any stock being allocated to sales order:

After stock is manually allocated:

What has actually happened is that the preallocation has been deleted as the Sales Order has been fully allocated from free stock, and therefore there is no need for the preallocation.

This is expected behaviour. The known issue part is that there is no obvious messaging to the end user on the Sales Order or Works Order to highlight this, which will result in a Works Order being booked in to free stock.

Impact: Low

  • Urgency | Ability to work not affected; inconvenient display issue only.
  • Impact | All users affected.

Workaround

This is an unusual scenario and for most sites using Sicon Works Orders with Sales Orders and Sicon preallocations, the works order would be used to fulfil the sales order it was preallocated to.  As such there is no workaround. In the scenario above, the booked in works order stock will replenish the free stock the sales order has since been allocated from.
