Sicon Known Issues

16883 – Manning levels not impacted estimated cost of works order

Version Reported In

Sicon Manufacturing v221.0.88

Detailed Description

When Works Orders include machine and labour costs, the manning level on the operation does not multiply the initial estimated labour costs by the manning level.

For example, an operation with a labour rate of £10 per hour, lasting 1 hour with a manning level of 2, should result in a total cost of £20 (rate × manning level).

In a works order with a quantity of 5, the expected cost calculation is: (Quantity × Rate) × Manning Level.

For example: (5 × £10) × 2 = £100.

Currently, the system only calculates Quantity × Rate, ignoring the manning level.

Note, manning level does not impact operation duration – it simply indicates that the task requires multiple resources to complete (e.g. heavy lifting etc.).

Impact: Low

  • Urgency | Estimated of multiple BOMs / works orders affected; workaround available.
  • Impact |Affects users only when using manning levels greater than 1 for estimated labour costs.

Workaround

This issue primarily only affects estimated costs at the point of works order creation. Actual costs are updated correctly as labour time is recorded, depending on system settings.

If accurate cost estimation is critical, sites can add multiple labour resources to an operation instead of relying on manning level.
