Sicon Product Lifecycle Policy

Release Types

Full Release

A public release available via the standard channels, which will follow the Lifecycle Policy detailed below.

Development Release

A phased, early adopter release preceding a full release. Rather than all new features being released in the first iteration of a full release, we will phase the new features across iterations of a ‘development release’. At the end of its development cycle, a full release is introduced and the development release retired, since it will essentially have been converted into the full release. For example, Sicon v25 and Sicon v26;

  • v25 is the development release and will go through 3 iterations – v25.1, v25.2 & v25.3.
  • Each iteration will have new features added, as well as any bug fixes from the previous iteration.
  • v26 will be the equivalent of v25.4 (v25.3 + hotfixes) and will be converted into v26.
  • Once v26 is released, v25 will be considered to be retired.

Extended Support

Sicon Additions modules that are in extended support remain covered under the terms of their support agreement however, no further development (including, but not limited to new features or hotfixes) will be provided. In the event of development being required for these modules, the customer will need to upgrade to an In-Life version.

End of Life

Sicon Additions modules that are End-of-Life remain covered under the terms of their support agreement however, support will be offered on a best endeavours basis. We highly recommend the customer upgrades to an In-Life version in order to benefit from full support coverage.
