Product overview

The Sicon Distribution modules provide a set of new features and enhancements to the standard Sage 200 modules, creating functionality to help business who buy and sell products. These features are split between new screens available, changes to existing standard Sage screens and via menus within the Distribution modules.

1. SOP Management

The SOP Management module is designed to enhance the processing of Sales Orders.  By using the adding of Customer Historical Lines, Copying Previous Order Lines, Creating Order Templates and the Rapid Telesales function, the time required for the input of Sales Order is greatly reduced.

Other features allow rapid Stock Allocation and Un-allocation, tracking Lost Orders and Order lines and creating individual Customer Mark Up Pricings.  Stock Items can also be marked as discontinued, offering the user a ‘Superseded By’ item code.

2. Container Manager

The Container Manager module allows containers to be created and maintained. They are linked to Purchase Orders, with the ability to create container tracking profiles and update actual tracking information.  Where a container is not being used, tracking profiles can be created and updated for individual Purchase Orders. The tracking status of both can be viewed in a List view, and also within the Sicon Stock Movements screen.

When used in conjunction with the Sicon MRP Module, Stock Item weights and dimensions are used to calculate whether selected Suggested Purchase Orders exceed a containers Max Volume and Payload.

3. Material Planning

The outcome of running Material Planning is that suggestions are generated for what you need to order. These suggestions would then need to be actioned by the relevant user to create purchase orders. Having more accurate information held on the stock item with regards to supplier details (prices, lead time, order quantities) will lead to more accurate suggestions.

Note that installing Material Planning will disable the Multiple Dates button purchase order lines. The way that Sage stores these dates and quantities against the line is not stored in a way that can be processed by Material Planning, so this button then gets disabled. This button can be restored to the purchase order lines screen via a setting in MRP Settings, but dates entered via this button will be ignored by Material Planning. For customers wanting to process purchase orders with multiple delivery dates, it is recommended that they are broken into multiple lines for items being delivered on different scheduled dates.

4. POP Management

The POP Management module enhances the Purchase Order Processing procedures including the ability to view and filter expected PO deliveries by date and time.  Supplier Catalogues can be created, enabling speedy entry of Free Text items (eg Consumables) from a pre-defined list.  Supplier KPI’s can be produced, showing KPI scores for Early, On Time, Late and Very Late deliveries.  Values can be drilled into, in order to view individual Supplier Order lines and Stock Item KPI’s.  Stock Items can be flagged as requiring inspection on receipt, and will automatically be placed in an inspection area in the system.

5. Future Sales

The Future Sales module provides both the ability to Calculate Minimum Stock and Create Sales Forecasts.

Both features will look at previous usage and produce recommendations based on a number of adjustable criteria.   The values can be amended before being processed, allowing greater user flexibility.

6. Pre-Allocations

The Pre-allocations module allows the User to create connections between outstanding Stock Movements, to effectively allocate that stock before it has arrived. Typically, this allocation would be from an open Purchase Order to an open Sales Order, but if you are using the Sicon Manufacturing module then stock can also be pre-allocated to Works Orders and Kits.  All allocations can be automatically allocated on Receipt/WO production.

7. Reserves And Call Offs

The Reserves And Call Offs module allows the User to create Sales and Purchase Contracts/Call Offs, and Stock Reserves.

Contracts can be linked to Sales/Purchase Orders and reduced down at Order Entry, pulling through the Contract price to the Order.  Where Sicon MRP is installed, there is an option to include Contracts when running MRP and Suggested Purchase Orders can use the Contract price.

Reserves can allocate stock for a Customer without the need of a Sales Order, or simply allocate stock as a Stock Item Reserve.  Where Sicon MRP is installed, if a Reserve has been created but no Free Stock is available for allocation, a Purchase Order Suggestion will be created or, where Sicon WOP is also installed, a Suggested Works Order will be created.

8. Stock Matrix

The Stock Matrix module allows you to create multiple stock items from predefined attributes.  This is useful where, for example, the stock item has multiple permutations regarding size and colour.  The User can define the format and attributes required for the Stock Codes and the system will generate each variation of the code.

9. Warehouse Replenishment

The Warehouse Replenishment module is intended to assist with the transfer of stock between Warehouse locations, and the replenishment of Warehouse locations based on their Minimum Stock levels.

Stock Shortage Transfers greatly enhances the standard Sage Transfer Stock option to move stock between Warehouses. It provides a means of allocating stock, printing a picking list, despatching it (with a despatch note) and moving it to an In Transit Warehouse before receiving at the destination Warehouse.

Stock Replenishments allows for the system to suggest replenishments from one Warehouse to another based on minimum levels set on the Warehouse. You can select a source Warehouse to supply the stock and a destination Warehouse that needs replenishing.

The Transfer Small Stock Item Batches allows the User to easily deal with batches that remain in stock, but are unlikely to be able to be sold or used because they are too small in size.
